Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Taiwan, organised by the Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI) and curated by Bito, the Taiwan Pavilion presents its Swingphony exhibition at this year’s London Design Biennale. The Taiwan Pavilion team uses Swingphony as the main concept behind its interpretation of the London Design Biennale’s theme – Resonance.

The 2021 Golden Pin Design Award is now calling for entries, opening up a great opportunity for design talents from across the world to showcase their products and projects that cater to Asian societies globally. This year, the organizer has invited for the first time British design genius Tom Dixon, renowned Japanese designer Taku Satoh as jury members!

The 2020 Golden Pin Design Award grand awards ceremony was held in Taipei on the evening of December 11, revealing this year’s winners of the Golden Pin’s highest honor. Among the winners revealed are exceptional designs from China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Poland, while Taiwanese designers came out on top with 20 award wins.

The 2020 Golden Pin Design Award has announced today (Dec. 3) that the Honorary Award shall be awarded to the incumbent World Design Organization (WDO) regional advisor Tony K.M. Chang for his contribution to and achievement in the Taiwanese design scene.

Titled ZONE, this year’s exhibition offers an innovative, immersive experience that transports the audience into a world of brilliant ideas. The exhibition will last until February 28, 2021 and will showcase 130 winning entries.

The awards ceremony for the 2020 Golden Pin Design Awards will be held in Taipei on December 11. The theme of this year’s ceremony, “2020,” highlights the challenges of this tumultuous year and symbolizes an opportunity for change.

Taiwan Design Research Institute is awarded the 4th Presidential Innovation Award. The glory goes to all of our partners!

The Presidential Innovation Award was established to commend individuals or groups who have achieved innovation in the diverse fields of product, technology, management, service, or culture that contributes to the country’s economic development. It was a tremendous honor for TDRI and the design industry to receive this year’s Presidential Innovation Award.

The submission periods for the 2020 Golden Pin Design Award and Golden Pin Concept Design Award are drawing to a close. The two awards highlight 12 exciting entries to promote the awards’ final Call for Entries this year, which will both close in early July.

For this year’s awards, the organizer has assembled an impressive 85-person jury—the largest yet—of leading international designers and experts in a variety of fields from fifteen different countries and regions. The 2020 Golden Pin Design Award’s call for entries ends on July 9th (Thu.) at 17:00 (GMT+8 Taipei). The organizer cordially invites designers from around the globe to take up the challenge!

This year, design industry experts from over fifteen countries and regions will participate in the Preliminary, Secondary, and Final Selections for the two awards. Early-bird registration for the 2020 Golden Pin Design Award ends on Monday, June 1st, at 23:59 (GMT+8).
